Are you a fan of fall? October and November are my favorite months of the year. The October moons are amazing and knowing the Thanksgiving Holiday is right around the corner fills my heart with gratitude. Not only are the seasons changing, we too are experiencing our own transformations at harvest time... cultivating our internal harvest. It's a time to reflect, take a moment to look at our own personal growth, time to plant some mental seeds and prepare for new growth, and one way to get grounded is to plant!  Here's an easy DIY harvest centerpiece idea that'll put a little joy in your heart and begin to think about what you'd like to bring about for the new year ahead.

The entire project from start to finish took about an hour. It's so simple to create and no matter how you group your succulents you can't go wrong. Planting is like a long meditation. Do you ever feel energized after you plant?

I purchased this planting mix from Anawalt, here is a link for organic soil from Amazon

These tiny pumpkins are so easy to slice & clean. I also took a paper towel to soak up the extra dampness.

Pat down the extra dirt, just add a little water, the tiny pumpkins will rot quickly if there is too much moisture.

Harvest time is a fun project for the whole family. Just ask my project manager Buster. Planting the succulents in the pumpkins they are now with their own compost (the pumpkin!). When the pumpkins begin to rot, you can plant them into the ground so the succulents are ground level or just transfer your succulents from the pumpkin into a vase or ceramic pot for indoors.
